Associate AV Solutions Designer: Summary
TSI Global is a full-service electrical and low-voltage systems integrator providing convergent audiovisual, networked communications, and security system solutions to customers around the world. We serve a wide range of clients in corporate, education, sports, entertainment, construction, healthcare, telecommunications and manufacturing.
A successful Associate AV Systems Engineer will work on engineering team with senior AV systems engineers to provide pre and post-sales support on audio visual (AV) systems, design, programming and commissioning. They will work toward a comprehensive knowledge of AV systems and become able to independently develop technical solutions and engineering design specifications that meet customer requirements. They will be required to effectively communicate with internal and external customers.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Design and design support on AV systems
- Interpret consultant-designed RFPs, specifications and drawings to develop equipment and labor estimates
- Provide operational technical support on AV systems including system commissioning and system service support
- Provide details and drawings used for fabrication and installation of AV systems
- Must be able to provide economically feasible systems design and propose suitable and reliable products for use on projects
- Promote a team environment
- Other duties as assigned
Knowledge and Skill Requirements:
- Four-year engineering degree from an accredited college/university or equivalent combination of education and related field experience
- 1-4 years AV experience
- Must be able to read and effectively interpret general business documentation, technical specifications and drawings
- Proficient in the use of personal computers including such programs as Microsoft Office Excel, Outlook and basic networking skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Must be responsible, self-motivated, self-starter, personable and well-organized
- Ability to work with limited supervision
- Superior customer service skills with both internal and external customers
- Ability to demonstrate planning, organizing and implementing skills which allow the successful completion of a project by a specific due date
- Detail oriented to the point where in your response back to us regarding your interest must include your favorite or least-liked Daft Punk song, or you will not be considered for the job
- Must be able to learn and work within team-established design guides and best practices
- Ability to identify a problem and systematically work through a system for troubleshooting
- Intermediate familiarity with IP network systems
- Ability to connect to a wide variety of equipment for communication and configuration
- Ability to train and mentor customers on operational procedures of technical equipment
Knowledge and Skill Preferences:
- Experience in programming of any kind, especially
- Logic based programming
- IP and serial control
- Relay & GPIO signals
- UI Design
- Experience with drafting/graphic software such as AutoCAD, Photoshop or Visio
- Familiarity with
- Crestron Control Systems
- IP audio & video distribution methods
- Open Architecture DSP like QSYS or Biamp Tesira
Preferred Certifications:
- AVIXA AV Technologist
- QSYS Level 1
- Audinate Level 1
Working Conditions:
- Office and construction site environments
- Overnight travel as needed
