We are seeking a Project Accountant to join our St. Louis Team!
Summary:
Responsible for setting up, billing, and monitoring the progress & variance of projects.
Primary Responsibilities:
- New Customer & Job Set Up
- Create all project-related billings.
- Maintain project-related records, including contracts and change orders.
- Confer with project managers to review billings, change orders, contract amounts, and estimates for all projects along with investigating project variances.
- Report to management on any opportunities for additional billings or project savings.
- Maintain lien waivers and other legal paperwork related to projects.
- Respond to requests for more detail from customers and/or project managers.
- Performs monthly closing activity related to work-in-progress (% complete) accounting.
- Close out projects upon completion.
- Analyze and reconcile various balance sheet accounts.
- Other entity & 3rd party platform set-up & maintenance.
aDDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Back-up purchasing and other accounting responsibilities as needed.
- Analyze processes and procedures for potential improvement.
Knowledge and Skill Requirements:
- BA or Accounting degree required.
- 5-10 years of experience preferred.
- Job cost / work-in-progress experience preferred.
- Organized, has attention to detail, and good problem-solving skills.
- Time, task, & priority management.
- Team player that is teachable and trainable
- Excellent written & verbal communication skills
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite – Outlook, Excel, Word, Teams, etc.
- Construction & Vista ERP system experience preferred.
Working Conditions:
- Monday – Friday in office work hours (7-4 or 8-5)
- Business Casual Dress.
