At TSI, electrical services are our residential specialty, including these three areas:
- Knob & Tube Upgrades
St. Louis homes built before 1950 may need to upgrade their fuse box to a new electric panel. Today's sensitive electronics require clean energy. If your home or business has knob and tube and cloth-insulated wires, you could be at risk of fire. Over time these old wirings become brittle and deteriorate and cause bare wires to be exposed.
- Panel Replacement
Older homes and commercial buildings need to replace and upgrade their electrical panels. Replace an old circuit panel or fuse box to a modern service panel for today's high energy needs. Older circuit breakers were not designed to handle today's typical power usage which can lead to blown fuses and flipped circuit breakers. We install, service, and repair panels up to 1000 AMP by Eaton, Siemens, GE, Murray, Square D, and Cuttler Hammer. Visit Service & Repair for more.
- Surge Protection
Don't count on powerstrips to protect your property. Whole-house suppressors are hard-wired to the service panel, a process that takes a licensed electrician about two to three hours. Whole-house systems should be rated to stop a 40,000-amp surge, at minimum. Features to look for include thermal fuses, and lights or alarms that indicate when a device has taken a hit. Discount surge protection, protection for an whole house with 200-amp service will run about $400 and a 400-amp electrical service will run $600. We install, service and repair whole house surge protection systems by Square D, APC, Leviton, and Siemens.
